What the heck is Indoor Axe Throwing?
Axe Throwing is all about having fun, with a healthy dose of competition "thrown" in. Guns N Gear is proud to be the first and only axe throwing venue in Idaho Falls. Axe throwing is very similar to darts, but instead of throwing darts, you'll hurl an axe and attempt to land it in a wooden target. Unique offerings like our axe hall are nothing new to us, as we are Southeast Idaho's largest, cleanest, and highest-rated indoor shooting range. Axe throwing is a primal contest of skill and finesse that has been practiced and cherished for hundreds of years and we are excited to bring the sport to our community. Participants will enjoy this ancient sport alongside old friends and new in a casual, yet electric space complete with music and socializing.
Are there age restrictions?
Yes, all participants must be 18 years old with a valid, state-issued identification.
How Much does it cost?
Your first visit will cost $20.00 per hour and includes a 15 min training from our staff. Each subsequent visit costs $15.00 per hour All Guns N Gear members can throw at no charge.

Why would I want to throw an Axe?
Because it is so much fun!! Indoor Axe Throwing has been around in Canada for 10 years and is a popular pastime for our friendly neighbors up North. Learning the sport of Axe Throwing in a safe and controlled environment from an experienced instructor is a great way to be introduced to the sport. The thrill of victory and rush of adrenaline you get when you sink a bullseye and hear your friends screaming your name will be etched into your brain forever!
Is axe throwing safe
Yes! Throwing an axe is similar to other target sports (like shooting). Provided that participants follow the instructions and safety rules explained by our staff, and use common sense, axe throwing is safe. Only participants that have gone through our safety course are allowed to enter the throwing arena. There is no passing of axes between players, and players must follow specific instructions from their axe-throwing supervisor.
What does an axe throwing session look like?
Our Ax-perts will teach you the basics on your first visit (10-15 min). Participants will then have the opportunity to compete in fun games with their friends. Think darts, only way more fun!
IS CATERING AVAILABLE?
Yes, catering is available in our private banquette room. Additional fees apply. Please call us at 208-227-8400 to arrange catering and we will have a feast ready for you and your crew!
What should I wear?
Closed, rubber-soled shoes are mandatory. If guests arrive in any other type of footware, they will NOT be allowed to participate.

Can I bring my own axe?
Only axes supplied by Guns N Gear will be allowed. During league events, World Axe Throwing League (WATL) you must use our approved axes. If you purchase your axe from Guns N Gear you may use that axe in our facility, though your axe must be inspected by our staff on every visit.
Can I bring my ninja stars, throwing knives, blowgun, meatcleaver, katana?
Unfortunately, we couldn't fit all that on the sign, so for now it's just axes. Who can participate? Only lumberjacks wearing flannel and full bearded hipsters. Kidding! Anyone 18 and up can participate. A message from our stuffy legal guy - Participants with any medical conditions and/or are pregnant should obtain medical clearance from their physician prior to participating.
How heavy are your axes?
Very, very, heavy... if you think 3 pounds is heavy. The axes we use are less than 3 lbs.
